Today: A checklist for parents

Back in 2011, I wrote a video for practitioners called “Parents of Disabled Children – Their “Today”.

To date it has received over 21,000 views on YouTube and has been used in numerous training and awareness sessions around the World.  It is something I am very proud of.

If you did miss it, please pop over to Letters I never sent [01] where you can watch the video and find out the background to my making it.

Since then, I have produced a number of videos but realised recently that they were all aimed at practitioners.  I wanted to put something together for parents and thought of top tips, what I wish I had known, etc. but none of them felt right – they felt like a rehash of everything already out there.

Today – For Parents:

Today - a checklist

Today, however, I am delighted to share with you my latest video.  It was inspired by a post I read on Pouting in Heels – I hope. I hope. I hope.  A great post if you have chance to get over and read it.

It was further inspired by the lovely Katie Clarke – my partner in crime here at Bringing Us Together – who gave me some great ideas and input.  Katie is such a fantastic parent to work with and, as a friend, she is often reminding me of the things I cover in my video.   Katie is one of a few friends I know I can talk to about this stuff, who will just listen and not judge.

Now, over to the video.

Enjoy!

I really hope you like it.  Like all my videos, I am always happy to edit and update so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

SO SO TRUE IN EVERY SENSE. IT IS MY TURN TO BOUNCE BACK AFTER 3 YEARS OF SUFFERING UNNECESSARY DISTRESS {PARENT ALIENATION} AND MY BLOODY SOLICITOR SAYS “NO”! I WONDER IF SHE HAD BEEN UNFAIRLY ALIENATED FROM HER LOVED ONE FOR YEARS IF SHE WOULD HAVE BACKED-OFF WHEN HER TIME CAME TO GET EVEN?

  2. Thank you so much for sharing my post. I am absolutely OVER THE MOON that it inspired you. Great video too 🙂
