Bloody Awesome Parents Awards (BAPS) have just launched.

Want something special for the weekend?  Want to start the weekend with a cheeky smile?

Want to see our BAPS?

BAPS - Bloody Awesome ParentSWell now you can, because our Bloody Awesome ParentS Awards (BAPS) have just launched. Nominations are open!

We know that there are loads of blogging awards. So why do we need another one? Well, no other awards specifically celebrate special educational needs and disability (SEND).  Traditional blogging awards are mainstream and SEND bloggers usually slot into the ‘Inspiring’ category and, to be honest, as lovely as that can be, as parents we often tire of being inspirational.  We want to be recognised for our other talents.

My Family, Our Needs, the website for parents, carers and practitioners, and Bringing Us Together, think this needs to change.

The BAPS allow SEND bloggers to be recognised for their talents, their stories and their families – from the everyday to the exceptional. The BAPS will celebrate these bloggers and showcase their valuable contribution to raising awareness of additional needs, both within the SEND community and the wider society.

The BAPS Awards allow SEND bloggers to be recognised for their talents, their stories and on their terms.

There are six BAPS categories, they are:

  • Campaigning for Change
  • Promoting Positive Perception
  • SEND with a Side Dish of Humour
  • The truth about SEND
  • Newcomer
  • Practical Support for Families

With independent judges and a public vote, the nominees will go through two rounds to get to the final.

We are delighted to have a fantastic mix of judges:

When is it?

The BAPS Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday 18th May in Birmingham. With a three course meal, drinks and dancing, the BAPS will bring together families, practitioners, suppliers and support providers to celebrate the amazing parents.

The BAPS will break down barriers and build positive relationships for everybody involved in supporting a child with additional needs.

You can nominate yourself or your favourite SEND blogger at or call 01223 206950.

If you’re not a blogger, you can still be part of the Awards Ceremony, just get in touch to find out how.
